FAQ
Do you make calls or strikers from any other woods not shown on your website?
Yes, we usually at any given time have over 70 different wood species in our shop and we will be glad to turn a species that we have, obtain a specific species for you, or turn with your wood you send to us.
How do I care for my new call or striker?
Most important thing to remember is to minimalism your call or striker’s exposure to moisture. While we finish our calls inside and out and our strikers are finished all the way to the tip, as with any wood exposure to excess moisture could cause movement and therefore change the sound of your call. Next, avoid exposure to temperature extremes when possible. For instance, don’t throw your pot call or striker on the dash of your truck when it is 75 or 80 degrees outside.
My call is getting scratched up is there anything I Can do to make it look more like it did when it was new?
Yes. We finish our products like you would finish a fine guitar or a piano. We use a post catalyzed lacquer that will not soak into the wood and dampen the sound like an oil based finish would. That being said, a lacquer finish is a repairable finish. Meaning, you can “scuff sand” it and respray it at any time. You can occasionally send your call back to us and we will refinish it like new, for a nominal fee, usually less than $15 plus shipping.
